Helen Shidler is a certified nurse practitioner (CNP) who works collaboratively with the internal medicine physicians at CCWM. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as both an adult and gerontological nurse practitioner. 

Prior to her CNP role, Helen held management, faculty, and staff positions throughout her more than twenty-five year nursing career.  Helen holds a certification by the American Heart Association as a CPR Instructor Trainer.  Helen's academic degrees include a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University in Chicago (June 2001), a Master of Science from Rush University (December, 1981), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Mount St. Joseph on the Ohio in Cincinnati (June 1973).  Helen holds membership in the American Nurses Association, the Illinois Nurses Association, the National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners, the Chicago Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses, the Illinois Geriatric Society, and Sigma Theta Tau. 

Personal interests include photography, nature, travel and hiking.
